Frank Green
Resume - 2002

January 1987 to present - As a camera-person and producer I have worked on documentary, commercial and educational videos. I collaborate well with directors or producers and also work well, unsupervised, as a director/cameraman. A career as a network news producer honed my skill in telling stories -- quickly and dramatically -- to a national audience.

As an independent producer I've also developed a series of four TV documentaries about forests, forestry and forest communities of the West Coast.   El Dorado is a one-hour film, shown on PBS, about a local community in crisis over a national forest.   The Forest Through the Trees, a documentary about the battle for California's redwood forests, premiered on PBS stations in October 1990 and aired on The Discovery Channel in 1991.   Headwaters Forest advocates saving the last unprotected virgin redwoods in the country.  Spotted in the Woods is a 1998 short film for school children about the Northern Spotted Owl.

1984-1987 - Field Producer, NBC News, San Francisco. Covered news events on the west coast and produced stories for NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw and Today Show.

1981-1983 - Bureau Chief, NBC News, Seoul. First American broadcast journalist stationed in peacetime Korea. The job included video camerawork, producing, and on-air reporting.

1975-1981 - Independent filmmaker based in Hong Kong. Produced and shot promotional, industrial, training and news films for general use and special audiences. Clients included ABC News, CBS News, the Canadian government, the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway, Joan Baez, and the Shangri-la Hotel chain.

I photographed and co-produced a Thai feature, about a farmer, called   Tongpan.  It was called by the British Film Institute "one of the most important 'Third World' films of the decade."
